In order to trim nicely you stages you can simply use a tank choker. Use a 4mm bungee, make a fisherman knot so you have a circumference of abou 10 cm around the neck of the stage.
Clip the bungee inside the boltsnap and fix it on your front d-ring.
Your cylinder will not hang down!
